Hire Car
Hire Car is a great option when visiting Straddie. If you are having an extended stay it allows you to see parts of the island the bus won't take you. Hiring a 4WD (and insurance?) opens up even more of the island to you. To drive on the beaches you need to purchase a 4WD permit from Minjerribah Camping.
Betta Auto Hire are the only hire car company that allow their cars to travel on the vehicle ferry. You can book a car for airport pick up via their website.

From Cleveland Ferry Terminal to Dunwich, North Stradbroke Island
Stradbroke Flyer Passenger Ferry
A fast, locally operated passenger ferry between Toondah Harbour (Cleveland) and Dunwich on North Stradbroke Island.
Arrive at least 10 minutes before departure to allow for boarding.
Duration: 25 minutes
Frequency: Regular departures throughout the day (every 60-90 min depending on time of day).
Facilities: Comfortable seating, shaded areas, luggage space, and toilets.
Pets: Allowed if on a leash or in a carrier.
Tickets: Purchased on board or from the Cleveland office.
